There’s a restaurant chain that always comes to mind when you hear “lettuce wraps,” but gone are the days of having to go out to eat to have these. Save yourself some money and try this recipe at home! It uses my super simple shredded chicken recipe (make the shredded chicken on a Sunday and use it all week long for different dinners!) and it’s low on calories, making it the perfect healthy meal.
- 2 cups of shredded chicken
- 1/2 cup of hot sauce, like Franks Red Hot
- 1/4 cup of free range low sodium chicken broth
- 1/2 tsp. garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp. onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- A head of romaine lettuce
- Optional: 2-3 green onions for topping
In a medium saucepan over medium heat, mix shredded chicken, hot sauce, chicken broth, and seasonings. Heat until warmed through and sauce is slightly bubbling. You may add 1/4 cup more sauce if you like more spice!
Serve in romaine lettuce chutes, topped with green onions, fold up and enjoy!
